LÆSØ BENCH
.
Group project from 2022
The Læsø Bench is inspired by the community and traditional materials from the small Danish island of Læsø.
There is a particular focus on eelgrass, which has been traditionally used for thatched roofs on the houses for generations.
The furniture is designed with eelgrass, and the textiles are dyed with it as part of an experiment. The bench is extendable, symbolizing that there is always "room for one more" in the community.
